About Us
We are Scientist-entrepreneurs on a mission to erase plastic waste by enabling the ultimate closed-loop nylon recycling technology.
Commercialize a low-cost chemical recycling solution for Nylon. Nylon plastic waste is especially harmful to the environment with over 9M tons of nylon produced from crude oil each year.
We’re plastic alchemists driven by purpose. Innovators fueled by possibilities to transform waste into valuable materials through visionary green science.
NylaNova was founded out of Northwestern University in 2019 by passionate researchers driven to tackle the global plastics crisis through chemistry innovation. Leveraging collective decades of polymer expertise, we custom-designed novel organic catalysts to chemically decompose nylon back into its fundamental building blocks. Our breakthrough solventless process closes the loop by re-polymerizing these monomers in a repeatable, value-preserving cycle that keeps existing plastic circulating as new materials.
Our next-generation chemical recycling technology unlocks unmatched performance and economics. We empower partners across industries to sustainably transform nylon waste that previously lacked circular solutions. By diverting plastic from landfills and incinerators, we protect our shared future on this planet – one infinitely recyclable product at a time.
Reducing plastic waste through circular solutions
Innovate
We develop novel catalyst formulations that enable groundbreaking chemical recycling processes for nylon waste. By innovating technical solutions and challenging old ways, we drive progress.
Transform
Our technology allows true circularity, chemically converting nylon waste streams to their basic building blocks for remanufacturing. We transform today's wasteful, linear practices into tomorrow's sustainable, circular systems.
Inspire
By showcasing the immense potential of green chemistry, we demonstrate intersectional solutions that resonate economically and environmentally. Our work inspires widespread adoption of circularity across industries.
